Trip to Albuquerque, NM

Sean had a basketball tournament over the weekend in Albuquerque. Since we're heading to CA in a week, we figured we'd do a trial run for a vacation. Thank goodness we did because we were reminded about why we need seating assignments.

John was prepared in case we ran into flood waters.

Sean's team won their bracket in the tournament. Out of 6 games, they won all of them.

Since we had extra time inbetween some of the games, we decided to take a ride on the Tramway......or as John was calling it "The Shadow of Death". It was about 15 minutes from where we were staying. The Sandia Peak Tramway is the "World's Longest Aerial Tramway". All the boys thought it was really cool. I had my moments. I found that the center of the tramway away from the windows was pretty comfortable.

On top of the mountain, you could see for miles and miles. It was breathtaking!

The best part was that we ran into Iron Man on top of the mountain. He was on vacation that's why he wasn't in full costume...lol.

Busy Weekend

We've had a really busy weekend. My mom (Nana) came in town on Thursday to spend some time with the boys. Boy, did we have some plans for her.
Friday night we headed out to the Diablos Game. We had a sky box and had such a great time! The chicken came down and ate all the boys! John thought that was cool! At the end of the game there was a fireworks show. Thank goodness the temperature drops at night so it's not as hot.

Saturday was Marti's Bday so we all went out to dinner at Stateline and then came to our house for cake and ice cream. This year for Marti's (Grammy's) birthday we decided to give her a lap top of her very own. While Grammy and Poppo were in Cloudcroft, Steve made their house wireless fo Grammy can hang out in her room and surf the web, email, catch up on her show, anything she wants.
Last but not least, today was Father's Day. Sean left this morning to Denton, Texas for a basketball camp. He was really excited to go and "thank you" to Kack and Leigh for picking him and his friends up at the airport and taking them there. We headed to church and then to Clubbie (Santa Teresa Country Club) for lunch. We came home to a little bit and then we headed to the Club (El Paso Country Club) for some swimming. Whew, are we tired!

Look out Paula Dean.....here we come!

John and I made brownies the other night. Ok...so they weren't homemade (they were from a box) but they were still good! I think John enjoyed licking the beaters and the bowl more than eating the end result.

Oh....and he is getting really tall, but he is standing on a stool in these pics. I am still taller than at least one of these boys!

Yippppeeee it's SUMMERTIME!

John and Daddy share some fun at Uncle B's pool!

Graduation for Two of the Filley boys

Austin and John graduated on Friday. Next year Austin will be moving on to 5th grade at Zack White Elementary. This will be the first time he is away from Escuela and it's going to be hard on all of us. John completed his year, but will still be in the second phase of the Kinder class next year at Escuela. We at least have one left with us there.

Celebrating Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

Blake and I

Mimi, Marti and Badad

We had a delicous lunch at the Santa Teresa Country Club. We missed having the rest of the boys with us, but the food was wonderful and the conversation was as always.....entertaining.

Blake's favorite part was:

The chocolate cake

Celebrating Poppo's Bday

Dwight, better know as Poppo, turned 67 on April 25th but we didn't have all 7 of us together so we waited to celebrate until this weekend. We went up to the "Cabin" in Cloudcroft. Blake, Austin and John went up earlier with Grammy and Poppo, then Sean, Jason, Steve and I came up a little bit later.

John put the candles on Poppo's cake and listened to the funny cards.

The boys spent some time helping Grammy and Poppo clean up the pine needles.

While Austin was digging for fossils, John and Blake were making sure the hammock was working. Eventually Jason joined Austin in his excavation.

During the day we started to notice how much Sean is looking like Steve.
